The Kievyan Bridge (officially the Great Bridge of Hrazdan) is one of Yerevan's most famous architectural structures connecting the Ajapnyak district to the city center. Commissioned in 1956 it was an exceptional example of engineering for its time. The bridge rises over the deep gorge of the Hrazdan River offering magnificent views of Tumanyan Park and the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. With its single-arch structure and grand appearance it has become one of the capital's symbols serving thousands of vehicles and pedestrians every day.
